A Lazy Sequence

Reading queue

In no particular order, the books I’ve got lined up to read shortly:

  • Practical TLA+, Hillel Wayne – I got this one on the strength of Wayne’s excellent blog. TLA+ seems like a really useful tool for modelling complex systems. Hopefully the book will help me get a handle on it.
  • The Raven Tower, Ann Leckie – Leckie’s sci-fi series is great; she has become one of my favourite authors. Her first foray into fantasy was a must-buy. Really looking forward to this one.
  • Perdido Street Station, and The Scar, China Miéville – Recommended by Judd Karlman on his Daydreaming About Dragons podcast. I’ve bounced off Miévelle before (King Rat maybe?). Having another shot at his books based on reputation.
  • Yellow King RPG, Robin D. Laws – This is sort of a reread, sort of a first read. I’ve already raved about the game based on the incomplete draft version released to preorders. I am just waiting for the physical books to arrive to start a fresh read with the final text. The final layout for these books is fantastic; hats off to Christian Knutsson for the design and layout.
