Suggestions

Last modified July 24, 2007 | Revision 31

Every website needs a suggestions page. It means that even when suggestions aren’t implimented, people can at least feel like they’ve been heard. Please place new suggestions at the top of the page.

Remember; sign your suggestions. If you’re going to suggest fixing broken pages, you should do so here.

  • Is it possible to include a latex-style equation client (like the one on wikipedia) so I can put equations on the site? -yoyo {Probably not in the foreseeable future sorry. The amount of effort required compared to the pay-off is significantly lower than other things I would like to do (such as minor edits) – brehaut}

  • Possibly allow Minor Edits? So that the edit doesn’t appear on the RSS or Recent updates section. nato (I agree — Greg) {Yeah, that makes some sense. i need to think about stuff like this a bit more i think — brehaut}

  • Maybe Someone could categorize this page nato { does it really need categorization? — brehaut} (at this stage, not really… but if the page got bigger? :D — nato)

  • What we need is a Dear Aunt Daisy page where you can ask questions and get all your problems solved, but all anonymously. But then again it won’t work if we need to sign things… ruth] {page created; just don’t sign anything ;) —mattw}

  • A “random page” link which takes you to a, well, random page. django: Pages.objects.all().sortby(‘?’)[0] should do the trick. —mattw

  • How about a WAP-optimised version of the site? — Greg {WAP is dead; buy an iPhone :-P —mattw}

  • Sidebars sections should be collapsable.

  • Subpages in the sidebar should only list immediate children

  • In comment sections, there should be a way to clearly mark the end of one comment, and the beginning of another. Perhaps a slight change in colour? Perhaps a horozontal line? Otherwise it’s a bit hard to tell where one person ends and another begins (and what happens if someone forgot their signature?) — nato

    Otherwise it’s a bit hard to tell where one person ends and another begins

    Most of us don’t have too much trouble with that one. — mattw

    Usually it’s not an issue, but occasionally when one person writes two paragraphs, I have to do a double take, and waste precious microseconds of my time — nato

  • Pages that link here? — nato

Macros

If you want a specific macro, you might want to detail it here, perhaps with some examples (which magically will start working when the macro is implemented)

This is something brehaut wants to add, and is fairly simple.

something went really wrong apparently!

A macro for advanced image linking. * Thumbnail support * full size * linkable ? * litebox style popups ?

Those of you who think you would use this, you might want to comment here.
