A popular activity for some people is photography. With the rise of digital cameras replacing film cameras, photography has changed from a reasonably expensive hobby to something within the reach of the average person. Combining this with the rise of cheap and powerful computers — and powerful software that makes full use of their capabilities — digital photography is an art form on the rise.
It offers the artistic person another front to play on, the not-so-artistic a chance to express some artistic ability, and, for others, simply a decent method to store memories.
The requirements for digital photography vary somewhat, depending on your purpose.
The Basics

Personal Kits
{1} For image editing with pretty much any software a reasonable computer is needed. Recommended minimum would be 1Ghz+ & 768MB RAM if running OSX or Linux, or 1GB RAM if running Windows. The more RAM the better though going over 4GB on a 32bit system is pointless.
