Saponification

Saponification is/ was a concept band developed in late 2001 by Andrew “ I’m not Angry” Brehaut and James “I wish I could shred” Bier to incorporate elements of death metal, thrash and cheese. By mid 2002 the line-up had expanded to include Dave “wanted to be in the band too” Mitchell

Despite a difficult start, with none of the members owning musical equipment beyond ancient nylon string guitars for it’s first few years, Saponification still managed to create two singles, the ever popular and talked about “angry” and the less influential “spirit and mission.” Neither however made it as far as commercial release.

As hard as it is to believe, live Saponification performances even more rare and exclusive than those of the band Atlas.

Merchandise is also rare, mainly due to the fact that the company printing the tshirts never did, and took all the graphics with them. Nobody cared enough to follow up.

They are currently on an indefinite hiatus as Saponification, however remain friends, and may continue to work together on future projects
