Fraser's Favourites

(Not in any sort of order!)

  • The Arcade Fire: Funeral Great, hooky songs; weird instrumentation; DIY production (gotta love it). Mournful and sublime.
  • Jeff Buckley: Grace I wish I was Jeff Buckley (except for the early death part). Also kind of mournful and sublime I guess.
  • Radiohead: OK Computer Blah blah defined a generation blah blah
  • Sufjan Stevens: Illinois I don’t actually own this one… will have to buy it someday. He’s a mad genius of orchestral folk-pop.
  • Mogwai:Mr. Beast Scottish post-rock crushing instrumental chaos.
  • Neil Young with Crazy Horse: Everybody Knows This is Nowhere Neil’s second solo album, and his first with backing band Crazy Horse. Fun experimental ‘60s country/rock/folk.
  • The Juliana Theory: Emotion is Dead (2000) Okay, it’s emo… but it came out before emo got REALLY bad! My favourite record of the early 00s.
  • Bic Runga: Beautiful Collision She writes nice songs.
