An album is a collection of songs put together by a band (or in the case of best ofs before christmas time, by their record label)
they are normally longer than an Ep and are usually contain around 10 â 12 songs, but can be longer or shorter (eg Mike oldfields tubular bells has 2 songs/ pieces of music, MXPX’s Let it Happen has 32). Normally these days they will fit on one CD and so are limited to less than about 75 minutes.
Albums are often best enjoyed as a whole, but just listening to one song is perfectly acceptable behaviour.
