Nelson is a small city in the north of New Zealand’s South Island. fraser lived there for most of his first 18 years. He can boast of its sunny weather, many small rivers, nice-smelling forests, encircling mountains, reasonably good beaches, plentiful apples, excellent wines, reclusive art snobs, dairy farms gradually being displaced by vineyards, weird-looking cathedral spire and generally low-stress lifestyle.
