This style guide describes conventions (mostly typographical) used throughout this site that editors will be asked to adhere to where possible.
The rules outlined here are emergent and descriptive where suitable. As a result the page is somewhat sparse as preferred style develops
Writing
- This is an opinionated wiki, not a reference wiki as a result writing in a personal style is encouraged.
- No requirement to english or american spelling is required. brehaut is quite content to drop ‘u’s from words like âcolorâ
The voices tell me to write fires
There is no particular voice required on this site, feel free to use what seems the most appropriate for whatever you are writing, but its probably best to leave the dry formal stuff to Wikipedia.
Typography
In a list, strong emphasis and an mdash is common if additional detail is going to follow.
Commenting
- If a page consists of article like content, adding a ‘comments’ 4-hash heading at the bottom for general discussion is common.
-
Typically editors choose to place comments left inline inside a pair of
{and}along with their usename. The username macro ~~~~ is good here. Comments in the comment section are typically in a non-threaded style with a hyphen or mdash followed by username at the end of the paragraph(s)
