Tubescreamers and variations
- TS-9 (and OD-9)
- TS-808 (and OD-808)
- TS-7
- TS-5
- Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive
- Boss SD-1
- Boss SD-2 - gets an extra star for versatility - two crappy overdrive sounds for the price of one. fraser
- Boss DS-1
- Big Muff Pi
- Tech 21 XXL {some of the time I love it, some of the time I hate it… depending on what i feel like doing and what it feels like doing —jim} {i gotta say, that warp knob is mighty annoying. It seems like it should really just be a trim pot inside or something for how retarded it makes me feel – brehaut}
- Diamond Fireburst { I used this at church on sunday with Fraser and Jim and was real happy with it. It carved out (somewhat violently) its own niche in the sound without drowning or being drowned out (like the big muff) and it really dig the tone it produces. – brehaut}
- Diamond J-Drive Mk3 { Drive + Clean Boost. Super amazing – brehaut}
- Metalzone - {I don’t know if this is really fair. If you’re into metal, it can be somewhat useful. I think you’re rating metal itself instead :p scott}
- Marshall Jackhammer
- Marshall Bluesbreaker
- FuzzieBro Japanese Saturation Machine { Uncompromising? Yeah, Often. Its pretty hard to control, and it only does insane buzzy silicon fuzz. That said, it can be fun to play with – esp with strong reverb – but its not something i would put in my pedal lineup – brehaut}
- FuzzieBro Custom Japanese Saturation Machine {Very improved over the prototype. Combined with the J Drive Mk 3 it has put my FireBurst out of my primary chain – brehaut}
Delay
- EHX Memory Man (one that works correctly)
- Diamond Memory Lane
- Belcat Delay
- Ibanez DL10 - digital, but sounds reasonably warm. fraser
- Ibanez DML - as above, but with modulation. Probably the best way to get mid-80s edge tones if you don’t want to spend $4k. greg
Reverb
- Boss RRV-10
Modulation
- Red Witch Pentavocal Tremulator
- Marshall Vibrotrem, as used by Brendon
- Voodoo Labs Microvibe
- Danelectro Tremelo, as played by Jeremy
Wah
- Dunlop Crybaby GCB-95, as played at least once by pretty much every aspiring guitarist since Hendrix.
- Vox V487 Wah Wah.
Misc
- Korg DT-10 pedal tuner.
