Guitars

As guitars are more than just entertainment, they are entitled to a section of their own. The best guitars come from the 1970s, and are manufactured in Japan. Examples of this are Ibanez, Tokai, Westone and Diplomat. The USA has also been known to throw out the odd fine axe.

A good guitar must be paired with:

  • A good amp
  • Pedals! (Although one can sometimes go without these, if the guitar and amp are of sufficient quality)

A good source of relief for one’s guitar related cravings can be found here.

A fun thing to do with guitars is to try different tunings.

15 Watt Cult

A growing brotherhood of believers follow the one true path, forsaking gratuitous wattage for the glorious tonal emancipation only obtainable when one’s tubes are glowing hot.

Japanese Axes Posse

Closely affiliated to the 15 Watt Cult, the JAP and its members eschew overpriced American and poorly constructed south-east Asian guitars in favour of the glorious playability and incomparable mojo found only in oriental instruments of a certain vintage.
