The Colour of Magic

Rincewind. The first novel that introduced the Discworld, Writen in a very british sureal comic style. Lots of parody, lots of amusing footnotes and a highly enjoyable read, but quickly overshadowed by later books in the series.

{When I first read this I loved it, and would have given it probably 4 stars, these days its more of a 3 I think. Note that I read it when I was ten, so my perspective would have been quite different. I still like it, but its definately in a different style to later books — brehaut}

The Light Fantastic

Rincewind {I read this significantly after The Colour of Magic and didnt enjoy it as much. — brehaut} {The graphic novel is very good Ollie}

Equal Rites

First appearance of Granny Weatherwax. Pratchett’s feminist phase. Haha only serious.

Mort

First Death novel. {Proably the shortest full Discworld novel (has very large type), and first really significant change in tone and style. Still a cool book — brehaut}

Sourcery

Rincewind {brehaut thinks this is the low point of the series} {Ollie likes the writing style in much of it}
