Can someone else please translate? Please oh pretty please? I met some random boys at Otago uni on tuesday and they started talking about binary and then they started talking about trinary (is that actually real or made up? i couldn't tell) and then they started talking about linux. I stopped listening then.

Yeah, trinary is real. Binary is base 2 counting (meaning there are two digits), trinary is base 3. Normal counting is decimal, or base 10.
