After a three years of being buzzing, missing notes, and tinny sound, old twangly died. Went to play some guitar yesterday and all the bottom E would do is buzz. A very sad day.

Poor old twangly.... Sounds like the thingee at the top of the neck has worn down.....
Here's a hint. If you sprinkle baking soda on the yellowy plastic/fake ivory stuff at the top, in the groove where the E string usually goes, and then add a drop of superglue, it will build it up again, thus lifting the E string off the fretboard, removing the buzz. You can then file it back down to whatever height you want.
Was a nifty trick I read online somewhere. Have used it on my own guitar months ago when I tried (disasterously) to lower the action. You can't even see the patch-up. And now the action is sweet.
