Fish Sauce

Fish Sauce is primarily made of fermented fish that would normally be too small for any real use (such as anchovies). I need to find out if I am actually allergic too it, as its supposed to be in most Thai cooking (eg red curry) which I love - but how does one learn this without risking a reaction? This is totally not medical advice, but the usual means of finding out if you're allergic to something is for your medical professional to perform supervised skin patch testing, whereupon a small amount of the substance in question and/or other substances is applied just under a labelled area of skin. Some quick Googling revealed http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/conditions/allergies-3.html which seems like a kosher explanation at first glance, and covers a few more tests too. Don't try this at home kids.
